Summary
Tetrode (usually called a screen-grid valve in its day) designed for use as a radio frequency (RF) amplifier in battery powered equipment. The use of a screen grid between the control grid and the plate reduced the grid-plate capacitance and permitted high gain at radio frequencies without stability problems. 2 volt directly heated cathode.
Physical Description
Internal structure of a screen grid valve with most of its bulb removed which has suffered some damage. Mounted on an American style 4 pin (UX) base with a top cap connected to the anode which has become detached.
