Summary
The 235 was the first remote cut-off valve to be made by RCA. Introduced in 1931, shortly after the introduction of the original remote cut-off valve, type 551. It was used as an R.F. and I.F amplifier in radios.
2.5 volt indirectly heated cathode.
The development of the remote cut-off, also known as the variable-mu, valve made automatic gain control in radios much more effective and eliminated problems with handling very strong signals.
Manufacturer: RCA, USA.
