Summary
The B443 was the first output pentode made. It was capable of producing almost two times the output power of a triode for the same DC input. Used as a Class A power output amplifier. 4 volt directly heated cathode.
The pentode was developed for use as an output valve by Bernard Tellegen at the Philips Research Laboratories.
