Summary
This is an example of the first commercially manufactured screen grid valve. Designed and patented by H.J. Round in 1926, the production valves were released in October 1927.
Introduction of the screen grid valve eliminated the stability problems encountered when using triodes as R.F. amplifiers.

Physical Description
Cylindrical glass bulb with 3 pin cap at one end and 2 pin cap at the other. Mounted on half of a socket; socket has been cut in half.
