Summary

Triode designed for use as a high frequency amplifier. 0.75 amp directly heated cathode.

The V24 was designed by Captain Henry Round in 1916 and was put into commercial production by the Marconi Osram Company in 1919.
The valve was designed to be able to be used on a plate voltage of 24 V (hence the 24 in its type number), this meant that equipment using these valves could be operated directly from a ship's 24 volt DC emergency battery supply.
It remained in production until 1923 when it was replaced by a dull-emitting version, the DEV. The DEV remained in production well into the 1930s
Manufacturer: Marconi Osram Valve Co, England
