Summary
Double diode intended for low current rectification. Frequently used as detector, automatic gain control rectifier and noise limiter in communications receivers and top-end domestic radios. VR54 was the RAF designation for the commercial EB34 valve. The Joint Services designation was CV1054. Equivalent to American type 6H6.
Manufactured for the Royal Air Force by one of many English manufacturers.
6.3 V indirectly heated cathode.
Physical Description
Small conical glass bulb with seven pin octal base. Zinc screening coating is flaking off taking with it, most of the type number.
