The original 'Rocket' was built to compete in Rainhill locomotive trials organised by the Liverpool & Manchester Railway Company in1829. It was the only entrant to fulfil all the conditions of the event and was awarded first prize. Total weight of original locomotive: 8.35 tonnes. Max speed: 47 km.p.h.

Yellow painted engine model with white funnel and brass boiler. Tender is painted green with large green barrel at one end.
