Summary

The A435 was a triode designed specifically for use as a radio frequency amplifier. The anode connection was taken to a top cap rather than a base pin to reduce grid-plate capacitance, the main cause of instability in triode RF amplifiers. The anode structure was also quite large giving wide spacing between it and the grid, again to minimise grid-plate capacitance. This valve was released in early 1927 but was rendered obsolete towards the end of that year by the development of the screen-grid valve (tetrode).
