Summary
Designed for use as a mixer and oscillator in television tuners. Known as ECF82 in Europe. The triode section was used as the local oscillator and the pentode was used at the mixer. Although originally designed as a television tuner frequency changer, this valve was widely used for general purpose applications where a triode and pentode were required.
