6.3 volt indirectly heated cathode, manufactured by AWV, Sydney, Australia, 1951-1960.

Triode-hexode frequency changer. This valve was developed by the Marconi Osram Valve Company in England and sold by them as the X79. When AWV started to manufacture this valve they registered it as 6AE8 with the RTMA in the USA at the end of 1950.
