Summary

Beam tetrode designed for use in airborne radio transmitters. It has the same characteristics as type 807 except for its 12.6 volt heater which was more suited to operation from an aircraft power supply. It was also fitted with a 7 pin base to make it less susceptible to vibration.

12.6 V directly heated cathode. Used as a Class C.R.F. amplifier. Manufactured by RCA, Harrison, NJ USA.

The original data sheet states 'because of its 12.6-volt heater and 7-pin base, the 1625 is particularly suitable for use in aircraft radio transmitters. In these transmitters and other equipment subject to vibration and shock, the 7-pin base provides ample friction to hold the base in its socket.'

Physical Description
