Summary
Full wave rectifier for equipment drawing up to 120mA at up to 580V. 4 V indirectly heated cathode, manufactured by British Thomson-Houston Co. Ltd., England.
By using an indirectly heated cathode it was possible to reduce the cathode plate spacing relative to directly heated types, resulting in a substantially lower voltage drop.
A further advantage of the indirectly heated cathode was that the warm-up time of the rectifier matched that of the other valves in the equipment, preventing the occurrence of a voltage peak prior to the full load coming on to the power supply.
Physical Description
Bulging cylindrical glass bulb with European four pin base.
