Summary

General purpose triode used as a Class A amplifier, with a 1.5V directly heated cathode; designed for use in AC mains powered radios in the late 1920s. Was made obsolescent before 1930 by the development of indirectly heated valves, this example would have been made for replacement purposes. RCA did not declare it obsolete until 1952 and withdrew it from their line in 1954 at which time their inventory was zero.
