Octode frequency changer used in radio receivers in the 1930s. 4 V indirectly heated cathode.
Essentially equivalent to the side-contact type AK2 but fitted with an American style 7 pin base for the Australian market. In Europe it was fitted with the Philips 'C' type 7 pin base.
