Summary

PH55 dual diode. 2.5 volt indirectly heated cathode, Manufactured by Philips, circa 1934. The diodes in this valve were designed for use as the signal detector and automatic gain control rectifier in radio receivers, the low mu triode section was designed to be used as the audio amplifier following the detector. Its low plate resistance made it suitable for transformer coupling to a push-pull output stage. Equivalent to the type 85 except for the heater voltage.

No country of manufacture shown, it cannot have been Australia, Philips started manufacture in Australia in 1936, too late for this valve. It was probably made in England.
