Summary

Triode, used as an output amplifier in radios, manufactured for: Radio Corporation of America, introduced in 1925-26.

This valve was intended for use in the output stage of radios. Its power consumption was rather high for use in battery powered radios but could be used when a mains powered high tension source was available. In late 1926 it was replaced by the UX 171A with an oxide coated cathode requiring half the filament power.

Technical details: 5.0 volt directly heated cathode. Filament was thoriated tungsten, maximum anode voltage was 180 volts, delivering 0.7 watt output.
