This was an indirectly heated version of the type 47. It had a very brief currency in radios; it was replaced by the 2A5 in 1933. It was capable of being used as a triode and as such, a pair could be used in class B to produce about 20 watts of output.
Used as a Class A power output amplifier and Class B push-pull amplifier.
