Summary
Double diode - triode, used in radio receivers as detector, automatic volume control rectifier and first audio amplifier.
Manufacturer: Ken-Rad Corporation, Owensboro, KY, USA.
This was an early version of this type of valve, a type which made automatic volume control possible without increasing the number of valves needed in a radio. Valves with the same characteristics as the 2A6 continued to be produced in all sorts of bulb styles and heater voltages until the end of the 'valve era' (1920s - 1960s).
2.5 V indirectly heated cathode.
Physical Description
Shouldered bulb with 6 pin US style base and top cap.
