Used for full-wave power rectification in domestic radios and other electronic equipment with moderate power requirements from about 1950 until the end of valve radio production in the 1960s.
Australian made Mullard branded tubes were normally manufactured by Philips but could also have been made by AWV. The excise mark, if present, can be used to tell which.
