The UX171A is an output triode intended for use in early mains powered radios. It was capable of producing an output of 0.7 watt which was ample for the cone speakers of the day.
Manufactured for RCA USA.. The presence of hyphens in the type number indicates Westinghouse was the manfacturer.
It had a 5 Volt directly heated cathode and was used as a class A power output amplifier.
