De Forest Audion DV3 electronic valve, almost certainly a DV3. The valve was used for detection and amplification in dry battery powered radio receivers and made by De Forest In America, circa 1923. The valve has a directly heated cathode with a filament voltage of 3V.

4 pin bakelite base; the filament runs across the tube (horizontal elements).
