Summary
The 955 was introduced in 1934 by RCA. Its radial pins were designed to minimize stray inductance between the internals of the valve and the external circuit. It could be used at frequencies up to about 600 MHz. 6.3 V indirectly heated cathode.
This type of valve is referred to as an acorn tube/valve. Although introduced in 1934 they were not widely used until the advent of Radar during the 1939-45 War.
