Power output pentode. Also known as EL84. Popular for use in high fidelity and guitar amplifiers in the 1960s, also used in radiograms.
This valve was introduced in about 1953 and, as of 2010, is still being manufactured in Eastern Europe and China for the guitar amplifier market.
