High mu twin triode developed for audio work circa 1950; it remained in wide use until the 1970s. It is still produced in 2011 for the audiophile market.
Known as the ECC83 in Europe.
12.6 or 6.3 volt indirectly heated cathode.

Physical Description
Tubular glass bulb on nine pin miniature glass button base with top exhaust tip. Valve is contained in rectangular yellow and blue coloured cardboard box with fixed internal cardboard packing.
