Summary
Special quality version of the commercial type 6J6 twin triode. It was designed for use in equipment where mechanical vibration and shocks are unavoidable and where statistically controlled major electrical characteristics are required.
Equivalents include 6J6WA and 6101, the latter is marked on this example as well as its CV number (CV4031)
The 6J6 was designed for use as a VHF amplifier in both receivers and low power stages of transmitters. It is useful up to 250MHz.
6.3V indirectly heated cathode.
This example also carries CV markings (CV4031) indicating that it was made for military use but also indicating where it was made (DC meaning Mullard Radio Valve Co., Whyteleafe) and when (TD meaning April 1962)

Tubular glass bulb on seven pin miniature glass button base with top exhaust tip. Valve is contained in rectangular blue and black coloured cardboard box.
