Obverse Description
Persian legend, mostly off flan (Translation from Catalogue of the Coins in the Indian Museum Calcutta, Vol.IV p.34: struck coin in gold and silver by the grace and protection of God, The Naib of Mahdi, Nasir-d-din Haidar the King) with date 1244 also off flan
Reverse Description
All off flan except two fish with the regnal date 2 between them from the arms of Awadh which was two fish facing one another below a katar surmounted by a crown, tiger supporters with heads turned outwards each holding a pendant; around also off flan, Persian legend
Edge Description
The edge is plain.
Significance
The regnal year 2 with the fish and tiger type arms also ocurs for 1236 AH under Ghazi-ud-Din Haidar.
