Other Details: A medal manufactured by a jewllers and awarded to Thomas Lang & Co. for for 12 dahlias at a Ballarat Horticultural Society show around 1860. The award was presented by Mr. B. Hepburn (who does not seem to be related to Capt. John Stuart Hepburn of Hepburn Springs fame). The Ballaarat Horticultural Society was formed in 1859.
Physical Description
A silver medal manufactured by a Jeweller whose initials, "G&S" are stamped into the back of the attached bar. It was produced by engraving a silver disk and soldering a silver relief of flowers to one side. This disk is set in a silver ring at the top of which is a fob-watch type swivel mount attached to a bar engraved with leaves on the back of which is a pin.
