Summary
Unissued Horsham & Wimmera District Pastoral & Agricultural Society bronze medal specimen from the reference collection of the Melbourne Mint, circa 1875. The obverse die was cut by Julius Hogarth and reverse die by Thomas Stokes. This example has a larger diameter than the normal medal. The Society supported the development of farming practices and community relationships in the Wimmera region.

An unissued bronze prize medal (46 mm diameter) Featuring a rural scene with horse, bull, sheep, plough, grape vines etc. together with details of the issuing Society and space for engraving details of a winner within a wreath of fruit, grape vines and wheat.

Around on broad rim, HORSHAM & WIMMERA DISTRICT PASTORAL & AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY; at centre space within wreat of fruit, grape vines and wheat; at base of wreath the artist's initials T S
Reverse Description
Rural scene with horse, bull, sheep, plough, scythe, grape vines etc. artists initials, JH below handle of scythe.
