The Iceni tribe inhabited the area that is today Norfolk and its surrounds in England. They are known historically only after the Roman conquest but especially for the revolt of Boudicca (see NU 16784). This coin is one of at least 90 coins (49 of this type) found in a pot at Freckenham in Suffolk in 1885.

Obverse Description

Voided cross formed be curved lines; at centre, a ring enclosing three crescents around a ring ornament.

Reverse Description

Crude horse with branched tail to right; above, wheel & crescent; below, top of wheel.
