The date 1880 was the year that the National Gallery of Victoria purchased his collection, It was transferred to the Science Museum of Victoria in 1976. This coin is noted in Vol.1 p.11 of his original catalogue, he purchased it from a Mr. Friedlander of Berlin for 2s. The coin became separated from its origin and was found in NGV Safe during McArthur Bequest incorporation, about 1904. -
