Summary

As postumous issue for Augustus struck in the reign of Tiberius, Ancient Roman Empire. Minted by Rome. Augustus died in 14 AD and was deified. Tiberius succeeded him and began issuing coper coins in honour of Divus Augustus perhaps as early as 15 AD. This coin was part of the sixth of six different issues struck before 37 AD. Production of this type began in about 34 AD.
