Other Details: This medal was struck to relpace medals featuring the head of Edward VIII who abdicated before his coronation in 1937. The detailed name and date of birth of the new King were intended tobe engraved on the plaque below the King's bust to celebrate the Coronation (see NU 20306).

Physical Description

An unissued and unfinished bronze prize medal (54 mm diameter) featuring a head of George VI, crowned, facing left together with plaque on which details of his name and date of birth were to be engraved. The reverse features a standard rural image with animals, fruits and grains a tractor and the rising sun together with a plaque on which a winners name would have been engraved.
