Gold plated copy of Adelaide Assay Office ingot type 8 from the example in the Art Gallery of South Australia collection.
The obverse markings state that (the original) ingot was 23 1/8 carats and weighed 4 dwt 19 gr which gave it the equivalent in 22 carat gold of 5 dwt 1 gr.
Physical Description
A gold plated electrotype copy of an Adelaide Assay Office ingot. Roughly rectangular in shape with circular stamp in centre. The reverse is engraved ELECTRO.
