The half-sovereign was a ten shilling coin. This coin has been removed from a jewellry mount at four points around the edge.

Edward VI enthroned facing holding a sword and orb; below, tudor rose partly removed from die; around, (mm removed on die) HENRIC 8 D G AGL FRANCI Z HIB REX
Reverse Description
A crowned shield quartered with the arms of England and France supported by a crowned lion at left and a dragon at right; below, HR removed from die or perhaps simply not struck up; around (mm none) IHS AVTEM TRANSIENS PER MEDI ILLOR IBAT (translation: But Jesus passing through the midst of them went his way)
