The last of the hammered coinage and the first of the specifically struck coins for the Maundy ceremony held on Holy Thursday. From 1670 the Maundy coins were dated.

Crowned and draped bust of Charles II, facing left; in field behind head the denomination, III around, CAROLVS . II . D . G . M . B . F. & H . REX.
Reverse Description
Square topped shield quartered with the arms of England and France combined in 1st and 4th quarters, Scotland and Ireland, on a cross fleury; around, (mm. crown) CHRISTO . AVSPICE . REGNO (translation: I reign under the auspices of Christ)
