Significance

10 Cent coins bearing the date 1796 were sent to Sierra Leone in 1796, 1802 and 1803. This denomination was also struck bearing the date 1791, the date of the foundation of the Sierra Leone Company (the coins actually being struck in 1793) and 1805.
