Silver Denarius struck during the reign of the Emperor Hadrian in 117 AD, Ancient Roman Empire. Minted by Rome. Hadrian was Consul for the first time (COS on this coin) in 117 AD and the second time from 1 Jan 118. The production of this coin therefore belongs in 117 AD. This example has been mounted as jewellery above the head of the emperor, the mount has been removed but there is damage from it on both sides.
