The medal artist was Louis Alexandre Bottee. The reverse was designed by sculptor and engraver Adolphe Rivet 1855-1925, born in Perigueux.

Round bronze medal with Marianne in military dress wearing a helmet in the shape of a rooster on obverse, and a winged female wrapped in a transparent veil holding a wreath in her left hand and an olive branch in her right hand around a central plain circle on the reverse.
