Significance
This pattern was based on a drawing sent by the Governor of Hong Kong, Sir Hercules Robinson, in 1861. The denomination in Chinese is given as one tenth (of a dollar) rather than 10 cents. The original document is illustrated in Money in the Bank p. 24. This piece was exhibited by the Melbourne Mint at bothe the 1880 and 1888 International Exhibitions.
