Significance
This coin was originally listed as a vartiey of the 1793 issue, but careful examination (see the image) show a faint crescent mint mark near the left edge of the obverse at 9 o'clock. This mark was adopted at Calcutta from 1830. However this coin is milled (grained) left which is not correct for the 1793, 1819 or 1830 issues. It may be a copy but is full weight and quite well struck.
