Significance
From August 1765 the East India Company controlled all mints in Bengal and used the mint name Murshidabad at both the Murshidabad and Calcutta mints. The Murshidabad mint was closed in 1777 but this coin, struck in the year 1769-1770 could be the product of either mint.
