Significance

This was part of the first issue of Jersey for King George V. The obverse legend was expanded from the simple form of KING & EMPEROR used for Edward VII to GEORGIVS V D[EI] G[RATIA] BRIT[ANNARUM] OMN[NIUM] REX F[IDEI] D[EFENSOR] IND[IAE] IMP[ERATOR] - George V by the Grace of God King of Great Britain and Ireland and the British Dominions beyond the seas, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India. The abbreviation OMN: replaced the section in Latin of the King's title ET TERRARUM TRANSMARINARUM QUAE IN DITONE SUNT BRITANNICA.
