Bicentenary eight coin set of $2, $1, 50 cent, 20 cent, 10 cent, 5 cent, 2 cent and 1 cent housed in a sealed clear plastic container which is mounted in a blue foulder with press-stud lock.
Physical Description
An eight coin set of $2, $1, 50 cent, 20 cent, 10 cent, 5 cent, 2 cent and 1 cent housed in an ultrasonically sealed clear styrene plastic container which is mounted in a tan foulder. The reverse types are standard for each denomination except the dollar and fifty cent coins which commemorate the Australian Bicentenary. The dollar features a kangaroo in the form of Aboriginal art while the fifty cent records the European discovery of Australia featuring a sailing ship set against an old map of Australia. All coins are struck with mirror fields and matt relief. The set is stored in a mint issue cardboard box with a printed pamphlet all of which should be retained.
Obverse Description
All coins bear a head of Elizabeth II crowned and wearing pearl ear-ring and necklace facing right; around, ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 1988; incuse on neck truncation the artist's initials RDM (Raphael Maklouf)
Reverse Description
Standard types for each denomination except the dollar and fifty cent coins which commemorate the Australian Bicentenary. The dollar features a kangaroo in the form of Aboriginal art while the fifty cent records the European discovery of Australia featuring a sailing ship set against an old map of Australia.
