Listed in Eugene von Guerard's catalogue, vol.1, p.8A. Acquired from Garibaldi of Melbourne probably in the late 1870s. Garibaldi's entries are always in red ink and inserted into the earlier text (see also 'O.C.' entries). Coin found in NGV Safe during McArthur Bequest incorporation, about 1904. Previous note says "Does not come from von Guerard and no earlier record of the piece yet found." -
