Other Details: Proof-like bronzed specimen strike of a medal issued by the Great Blackwell Pastoral Society. Pastoral and other agricultural societies in the nineteenth century were an important means of encouraging best farming practice and the incorporation of new developments. They regularly held shows and competitions.

An bronze prize medal (45 mm diameter) featuring three circles containing a horse's head; a bull's head and the third, two sheep, ram standing and ewe sitting; together with the name of the society and space for details of the winner on the reverse within an olive wreath
