An proof silver coin (25.1 mm diameter) featuring on the obverse a crowned head of Elizabeth II facing right, around, ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 1996 the artist's initials RDM incuse on the neck truncation. The reverse features the head of Sir Henry, bearded, three-quarters right with the denomination 1 DOLLAR; around incuse on left, SIR HENRY PARKES 1815 - 1896, around on right, "FATHER" OF FEDERATION. The coin is in a black coin case with the Australia Arms printed in silver (71 * 67 mm.) The packaging provides the portrait of Sir Henry on which the coin design was based and some biographical details and a certificate of authenticity No. 0006969.
