Summary

Placard made by State Library of Victoria employees and used by them in a demonstration of 1500 state public sector employees on 9 August 1990. The protest was against proposed cuts in government funding.

With the Victorian economy in a general state of malaise, it had been publicly stated that the forthcoming budget would contain massive cuts in public expenditure; hence employees staged a half-day strike and marched from the Victorian Trades Hall council to the Government Offices in Spring Street, Melbourne.
