Summary
Hand made marionette depicting a domesticated Elephant. It was manufactured and operated in Melbourne by Alex and Murray Smith, who performed as part of Le Forgeron Marionettes from 1930 until 1956.
Physical Description
Marionette depicting a domesticated elephant. He is covered in grey cloth, and has movable legs, trunk and ears. He has glass eyes, and is weaing a green fringed rug, edged with silver sequins, on his back and a matching hat. There are operating strings attached to numerous parts of him, including his head, limps and shoulders. The feet have been weighted.
