Significance
Struck in Berlin in order that they would be available in South Africa in time for Presidential elections in 1892. However the German engraver depicted the incorrect form of wagon in the arms on the reverse, the correct form had a single shaft and larger back wheels than those on the front. Many of these incorrect pieces were retained, this example has been used as a broach.
