Summary
Hand made marionette depicting a large silver fish. It was manufactured and operated in Melbourne by Alex and Murray Smith, who performed as part of Le Forgeron Marionettes from 1930 until 1956.
Physical Description
Marionette depicting a large fish, which is wooden and painted silver with black detailing. It has three fins and a tail fin which are terracotta coloured rubber with black and silver painted detailing. The wooden body of the fish is comprised of two pieces nailed together, the fins have been attached in between the two pieces of wood. The fins are more heavily painted on one side. The fish is suspended by string from a piece of wood.
